Raine & Horne expands in Northland and Waikato as property sales and confidence surge

September 27, 2024

Here’s a riddle: What do Orewa, Millwater, Warkworth and Wellsford, have in common? Besides being vibrant areas in the Rodney District of North Auckland, they’re all now part of the growing network of the Australasian superbrand Raine & Horne.

The Raine & Horne Orewa team, led by Anita Yahya, Raine & Horne Millwater under the leadership of Vanessa Jardim, Raine & Horne Wellsford, guided by Jon Standbrook, and Raine & Horne Warkworth, led by Rick Law, have all embraced the iconic handcrafted gold ampersand alongside the brand’s sleek charcoal and white colour palette at a crucial time in North Auckland’s real estate market cycle.

This rebranding coincides with improving prices in the Rodney District in North Auckland with values up 2.2% month-on-month in August according to data from the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ)[i]. Median prices jumped from $1.120 million in July to $1.145 million in August – a healthy increase of $25,000 for property owners in the Rodney District. The jump in values corresponds with an 8.8% increase in sales across Rodney District.

According to Jen Baird, CEO of REINZ, owner-occupiers and first-home buyers were the most active buyer groups in August across Auckland.

“Vendor price expectations were realistic. However, some buyers seemed ‘optimistic’ with their offers, displaying a new type of confidence as they were aware of the ample supply of properties on the market,” she added.

“Attendance at open homes increased, with newer listings attracting good interest.”

According to the REINZ auction room activity and attendance picked up across the board. “Market sentiment has been influenced by changes in the official cash rate (OCR), lending criteria, a slight decrease in interest rates, and a rise in general confidence,” Jen Baird said.

“Local agents predict no significant market changes until lending criteria loosens and interest rates fall further.”
