Raine & Horne increases presence across the Canterbury region as property values rise

October 16, 2024

Property owners seeking to sell before Christmas across Canterbury, in districts such as Timaru, Selwyn, and Waimakariri, are well-positioned to benefit from rising property values.

In Timaru, property values saw an impressive 9.9% month-on-month increase in August, jumping from $480,000 in August 2023 to $530,000, a 10.4% rise according to the REINZ’s New Zealand Property Report - August 2024[i]. The Selwyn District also experienced growth, with values up 2.1% month-on-month in August and 3.4% since August 2023. Meanwhile, real estate prices in Waimakariri are also beginning to trend upward.

Despite improving prices, overall sales in the Canterbury region have dipped by 3.1%, as some owners remain hesitant, waiting for further positive news. However, increased market activity suggests that buyers may be keen to move quickly, particularly with the potential for additional rate cuts by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand on the horizon.

With market activity on the rise, the timing couldn’t be better for leading Australasian real estate firm Raine & Horne to expand across the Canterbury region. Lee Johns is heading up the team at Raine & Horne Timaru. Strong in marketing and customer service, Lee’s approach is straightforward: build strong relationships rooted in honesty, authenticity, and enthusiasm to ensure a seamless process and deliver the best possible client outcomes.

The super brand also has a presence in the Selwyn district, with Jolene Eagar and Eddie Eagar leading the charge at Raine & Horne Lincoln/ West Melton/ Rolleston. According to Eddie, this husband-and-wife team is able to maximise their shared real estate knowledge and blend their complementary strengths to achieve the best possible result for their clients. The couple’s combined capabilities include real estate sales, financial and business management.

With Rangiora and Oxford in the Waimakariri District and Darfield in the Selwyn District, Raine & Horne Rangiora/Oxford/Darfield, led by Amber and Adrian Louttit, has North Canterbury well-covered. The team at Raine & Horne Rangiora/Oxford/Darfield prides itself on supporting their clients every step of the way as they make one of the most significant investments of their lives.
