Raine & Horne ramps up presence in Southland and Otago

October 25, 2024

Australasian real estate powerhouse Raine & Horne is expanding its footprint in the Southland and Otago regions, as the Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s recent cuts to the Official Cash Rate (OCR) offer local homeowners a more optimistic outlook.

The central bank reduced the OCR by 50 basis points in October, and signs of an immediate boost in the momentum of the New Zealand property market have already begun to emerge following the 25 basis point rate cut in August. For example, median prices in Southland District, where Sheree Williams is leading Raine & Horne Southland, are up 3.2% since August 2023, according to REINZ’s August Monthly Report. Meanwhile, the median price in Otago is up by 6.7% since August 2023.

Sheree is also collaborating with Kate Bratschi at Raine & Horne Gore. While interest rate cuts could help boost Gore’s real estate market activity, the town remains an ideal place to live and work.

Nestled along the banks of the Mataura River, the Gore district is a vibrant, multicultural rural community with a population of just over 12,000. Its proximity to lakes, mountains, forests, rivers, and the sea makes it an appealing destination for those seeking a balanced lifestyle.

It’s only fitting that Raine & Horne Alexandra/Cromwell, led by sales ace Rhys Chamberlain, is now serving the town in the Central Otago district, where median prices have surged by an impressive 16.6% since last August, with an 11.7% increase month-on-month rise in August.

Specialising in the Alexandra, Clyde and Omakau/Ophir areas, Raine & Horne Alexandra/Cromwell also extends its reach throughout Central Otago, thanks to Rhys’s extensive database and repeat clients.
