Raine & Horne expands across Christchurch as property values show positive growth

November 3, 2024

Australasian real estate super brand Raine & Horne is expanding its footprint across Christchurch, with five offices now operating in Cashmere, Papanui, Burnside/Harewood, Avonhead, and Northwood. These locations proudly showcase the iconic handcrafted gold ampersand logo alongside the brand’s sleek charcoal and white colour scheme, just as property values in Garden City show positive signs of improvement.

According to the latest REINZ Property Report, Christchurch City’s median price rose by 1.9% month-on-month in August and increased by 1.5% since August 2023. The Canterbury region experienced price growth of 1.8% month-on-month in August, with a 0.5% rise since August 2023. REINZ CEO Jen Baird noted that owner-occupiers and first-time buyers are the most active in the market, with early signs of investor interest also emerging in August.

“Market sentiment was influenced by decreased interest rates, early signs of spring-like activity, economic progress, and general optimism,” Jen Baird said.

Located about five kilometres south of Christchurch’s central business district (CBD), the Cashmere area is home to Raine & Horne Cashmere, led by Nienke Middleton and Christian O’Malley. During August, Christchurch City’s median property price rose from $648,000 at the end of July to $660,000 by the end of the month.

Papanui, located five kilometres northwest of Christchurch’s Central Business District (CBD), is home to Raine & Horne Papanui/Northcote, led by Sahab Hussain and Nick Eschenbach. As we head further into spring, REINZ reports that local agents across the Canterbury region remain optimistic that the market will continue to improve in the coming months.

Raine & Horne Burnside/Harewood/Christchurch Central/Spreydon is led by University of Canterbury alumnus and award-winning agent Garry Huata, alongside Chris Spence, who brings a modern, ‘new school’ approach to supporting his real estate clients.

Avonhead, situated on the west side of Christchurch, is approximately nine kilometres from the CBD. Leading Raine & Horne Avonhead is Rod Lewis, who has firmly established himself as one of Avonhead’s top agents. For over 30 years, he has consistently delivered outstanding results for his clients.

Located on the northern outskirts of Christchurch City, Raine & Horne Northwood is headed by the dynamic team of Natarsha Crawford and Susan Mullink, who consistently earn 5-star client reviews on Google and Rate My Agent.
