Raine & Horne on the way up in Canterbury as interest rates are on the way down

October 22, 2024

With interest rates on the way down in New Zealand, Australasian property leader Raine & Horne is on the rise as it transitions three more offices in the Canterbury region to its iconic handcrafted gold ampersand logo, complemented by the brand’s sleek charcoal and white colour scheme.

In its October meeting, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) cut 50 basis points from the official cash rate. RBNZ governor Adrian Orr took the OCR to 4.75%, acknowledging the challenging times for the national economy and after a 25 basis point reduction in August.

In the same week that the RBNZ sliced the cash rate, Raine & Horne opened two offices in Christchurch City: Raine & Horne St Martins / Somerfield and Raine & Horne Riccarton. The super brand also launched Raine & Horne Kaiapoi/Amberley/Belfast within the Waimakariri District.

Serving inner-city suburbs just ten minutes south of the Christchurch CBD, Raine & Horne St Martins/Somerfield is led by husband-and-wife team Jo and Peter Warren. With over 20 years of real estate experience, Peter offers a depth of industry knowledge, while Jo’s engaging and down-to-earth approach brings a fresh and dynamic perspective. Together, they form a winning combination in the St Martins real estate market.

Due west of the Christchurch CBD, Riccarton is known as one of the city’s most vibrant suburbs, rich in history, culture, and modern residential comforts. Raine & Horne Riccarton, led by Joan Familton, proudly serves the area. Joan is supported by an experienced team of salespeople, finance, and insurance advisors.

Raine & Horne has also expanded its network presence in the Canterbury Region, where median price grew by 1.8% month-on-month in August[i], with the addition of Raine & Horne Kaiapoi/Belfast/Amberley, situated in the Waimakariri District. The office is led by Janine Duke, who began her career in Real Estate in 2004. Janine has built a strong reputation for her commitment to her clients through her passion, organisation, integrity, and exceptional client customer service.
